Q'ero style, hand-woven baby alpaca from the Andes, Peru. Baby alpaca is very soft and supple.
The off-white field is the natural colors of the alpaca wool. The terra cotta color is achieved with natural dye. Mesa cloths with two fields of color such as this one are regarded as very special by the Shamans/Curanderos.
The colorful border design is created with natural dyes.
The Andean people use these Mesa/Mestana cloths in their Shamanic practices and Ceremony. Cloths with the tassels are generally called Despacho Cloths, however, it can be used as a Mesa Cloth.
Can be used as decor in your home or office, adding warmth, texture, and culture.
