Aguayo (Awayo) Style Mesa/Mestana Cloth - $125

27.5" X 28"

Condition: New

This vintage Aguayo style Mesa cloth is made of hand-woven alpaca and natural dyes from the Andes. It has been used in Ceremony, and is in good condition for its age. It has several small, weak spots.

The center seam is bound with colorful hand embroidery. The threads are broken in the center, which can be easily repaired. It has binding on all four sides, which is worn.

The Aguayo style Mesa cloth is used in the Pachachuti tradition of cross-cultural shamanism. Being of a larger size, the Aguayo style Mesa cloth is sometimes used as a community Mesa. These cloths are also traditionally used to wrap sacred items, serve as an altar cloth, as well as every day uses such as carrying a variety things from firewood to babies, or being worn as a shawl for warmth.

It can also be used as decor in your home or office, adding warmth, texture, and culture.

Please note that the photo with the Mesas, Shipibo Rattles, and watanas/ties are for display; the specific ones may not be available if sold. However, there are more available. Each one is unique.

Because these items are hand-crafted by local artisans using traditional techniques, slight variations may occur. Note that colors may vary according to each display monitor.
